#012

I'm trying to only buy second hand clothes now, as i just can't bring myself to spend over £10 on an item of clothing! I also read something that inspired me a little to do this too: 'People would look better if they didn't spend money on clothes. If they took what they found and just made the most of it, that'd be good'- Alice Glass (Crystal Castles) I think this is so true, I think sometimes people rely on places like Topshop too much. It's like, as long as it's from Topshop, surely it's got to be on trend?? Although i do love Topshop, I just can't shop there anymore, everything looks too nice, I could probably only afford one thing per month and could not choose!! :P
The top above is something I found at the carboot sale, it was £1. The 'gold' necklace was 10p. PS. i have a new tumblr: http://superdoopa.tumblr.com

Today was loooverly :) I wore my (new favourite) pale pink knitted cardigan I got for £1.50 at a charity shop.   It's so adorable, there are little pink beads, buttons and ribbons embellished on the front. My blouse is vintage and the shorts (which used to be trousers, though i'm not sure if i should have kept them 3/4 length for a more 60's vibe) are from a charity shop.
I've been spending a lot of time on my sewing machine lately, doing uni work as well as customizing some old clothes. There's something weirdly relaxing about working on it on a sunny afternoon hahaha. It's just annoying that I can't listen to music at the same time because of the noisiness of it.
I've watched quite a few really good films lately, Submarine which reminded me a bit of Amelie. Scream 4 which was awesome and An Education. I've also just finished reading 'Luella, English Guide To Style' which I ADORED. My favourite chapter was the one about the different sub cultures, I find street style so interesting. I may write another post about it soon.
