Graduation and more drawing

After 4 of the most crazy and best years of my life so far, I somehow managed to get an overall 2.1 classification Bachelor Degree in Textile Design from the University of Leeds!

I wore a boxy shaped dress with a bright green splattery print from Whistles and "the biggest necklace" (the photographer had seen all day) is from Warehouse last year. My ankle boots are from Pull & Bear in London. At the top are illustrations of my outfit from yesterday, my graduation outfit, and then some street style inspired illustrations- also from yesterday shopping with my mum.

Style Icon and Summer Plans

A recent style icon I've come across is Laura Bailey, below are some illustrations of favourite outfit combinations..

In other news I've just booked flights to Spain, where I will be Au Pairing for a family in a place not for from Barcelona! Other summer plans include Tramlines festival in Sheffield, Graduation, a uni friends leaving party (she's got offered an internship at Disney in America!) and another of my best friend's leaving party's (who has been offered a grad job in Denmark!).

Eyes looking like you had a fight with the rain

I've been so bad at blogging lately! Obviously a final year student! I will try and update more often, especially as I will have finally completed my course by the end of May, I've already started making summer lists including festivals, city trips, clear outs...

Below are a few things from the past month. From the top: cute embroidered top, 20p or something from the carboot, dark green Topshop dress £4.99, and grey embellished top £3.99 both from the charity shop.

I've just finished reading How I Live Now, by Meg Rosoff after watching the film which I loved! Currently reading Never Let Me Go by Kasuo Ishiguro, it's so nice to have time to read again after so much dissertation reading and writing!

I got this purse for 50p at a charity shop, I actually have separate compartments for my cards and change now!

Silver rings, £2 for a pack at Primark, the elephant is my favourite. I also got a gold wings ring for 50p, again from the charity shop. Nails are Barry M.

A few sneak peaks of some uni work. All illustrations and prints are my own.

And finally a few random instagrams whilst bored at home!

Little Black Submarines

 January haul & Illustrations.
From top: Boots £1, Brogues £2.50 charity shop, Scrunchies 90p Superdrug & Rimmel Mary Mary Quite Contrary, Floral blouse £3.99 charity shop, Glittery jelly shoes £4 Primark, Floral leggings £7 and baroque tights £7 Topshop Sale, Nails, Doodles and Illustrations.

All stocked up on shoes! The boots will be ideal for festivals with high waisted denim cut-offs and a parka.. The brogues would be really cute with school kid socks, flippy skirt, blouse and cardi and FINALLY Primark is stocking proper 90's kid jelly shoes! I also love how scrunchies are coming back, I really want the velvet and glittery ones from UO..

Left: Girl with cool floral trousers I saw on the train home from Uni, wants! & What I wore last weekend, Right: Illustrations from Vogue February 2014.

It's 3 in the morning, and I'm trying to change your mind.

I am on the look out for a wool boyfriend boxy blazer. Miss Selfridge and Topshop have some perfect ones although due to my student funds I hope to find a cheap one in a charity shop, or maybe the Christmas sales!
Illustrations by me.

You look like you've been for breakfast At the heartbreak hotel

Style icon: Clemency Poesy, I love the effortlessly chique way she puts outfits together and her androgynous style. I recently watched a film she was in 'Lullaby For Pi' it''s so endearing!  She plays a cute, quirky artist that has a romance with a young musician.

You are the fugitive, But you don't know what you're running from

Above: My designs inspired by oriental trend. (Prints are not mine) Wrap and drape shapes will be a key transitional trend for SS13/AW13, think wrap drape blouses, fringed kimono capes, wrap front playsuits and jumpsuits, high neck collars & tropical rainforest and oriental prints.

I want to be forgotten, and I don't want to be reminded.

Instagram: magical nails, fashion illstrations, Camden, wardrobe, outfit, dinner, outfit, new glittery boots (Topshop a tenner!!) sketch.
The Strokes are probably my favourite band although I'm not too sure about their latest album. The same to be sad about this drawing.. I think I made his nose look too lumpy -_-'

I'm just a girl, guess I'm some kind of freak, cause they all sit and stare with their eyes

playsuits yeah

playsuits yeah by katthai featuring marni

I can't wait til England starts having playsuit weather, I really like the printed ones in Topshop at the moment,  I'd also quite like to see the high street stocking up on tee & short suits (more casual/summery approach to a tailored trouser/skirt & blazer suit?)
Top, my own designs.

hey soul sister

I spent some time rummaging through ancient bits and bobs in my attic when I went home last weekend and came across my parents old photo albums.. I'd never noticed the awesome attire of the 80's in them until now! Above is my Mum and Dad on their wedding day, and below my mum and her sisters on her youngest sister's graduation. I like the sailor shapes, neutral/washed out colour palette and block-y crazy prints!
